Start with fresh fuel
Gas left in the tank over winter goes stale. Start the season with fresh fuel.
Check the oil
Check the level before you mow and top it up if it is low.
Keep the blade sharp
A dull blade tears grass instead of cutting it. Sharpening is part of every tune-up.
Clean the deck
Scrape off wet clippings after mowing so they do not build up under the deck.
Keep the air filter clean
A clogged filter makes the engine work harder. Check it a few times a season.
Store it clean and dry
At the end of the season, clean it off and keep it out of the weather.
